Welcome to the Fort Nelson Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR). We are located in Portsmouth, Virginia. We are one of 130 chapters in the Virginia Daughters of the American Revolution and 3000 chapters in the United States and abroad.

 

For more than 127 years, the Daughters of Fort Nelson Chapter NSDAR have lived the DAR motto “God, Home, and Country” through volunteer service to the community. We are women of different ages and backgrounds, but we are united in our belief that one of the best ways to honor our ancestors is through promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and supporting education to ensure a brighter future for all Americans.
